Welcome to my Doula Services page! Here you can find what I can do for you, how you can benefit from it and what it will cost.

*Initial Meeting: When you first contact me I will set up an initial meeting to meet and see if we are a good fit. This meeting can range from 20-40 minutes or as we see fit. I will describe what I can do for you during the last weeks of your pregnancy, your labor and delivery and the first few weeks postpartum. This meeting is free.

*Prenatal Appointment: This is an appointment that is done in your home to get some information about you and your pregnancy, your preferences, make a birth plan and to provide education to you about the birthing process and such. You can feel free to express your fears, concerns, joys, etc. at any time. I am hear to provide answers, comfort and understanding. This is the visit I will also give you my community resources handout that will help you find everything from a postpartum doula to services such as WIC and housing authorities.

*Labor & Delivery: I will be on-call typically 2-3 weeks prior to your estimated due date for you to call and notify me you are in labor, or that you think you are. I will come to your home or the hospital, which ever you are at, and do an assessment to see if you're in labor. I will remain with you until approximately 1-2 hours postpartum. You will not be charged if I miss your delivery.

*Postpartum Visit #1: Depending on when you get to come home from the hospital, I will come and visit you a few days after coming home from the hospital. I will come to check you and the baby, help you reflect on your birth, help you with breastfeeding or recording baby's schedule and make community referrals as needed.

*Postpartum Visit #2: I will make a second visit 1-2 weeks postpartum, depending on our schedules. This visit will be to again check on you and the baby, continue to help with breastfeeding if needed, provide some infant education and talk about the warning signs of postpartum depression. I can also make community referrals at this appointment.

*Postpartum Visit #3: The 3rd postpartum visit will typically occur about 4-6 weeks postpartum and will be our last visit. I will present you with a detailed written account of your birth and something special for your baby. I can also make community referrals and help you connect with other new mothers in the area.

Pricing

My pricing will be by a sliding scale based on income, but my full flat fee is $300 per birth. Occasionally, I will provide pro-bono doula services when the need is there.
